Our Team

Steve & Debra Cohoon

Steve and Debra are passionate about the value of children’s ministry and serving the most vulnerable.  Prior to Serve One, they served together as missionaries with Awana Clubs International. Most recently, Steve served as the Global Vice-President of Revenue & Ministry Advancement & Debra served as the International Ministries Assistant.  They joined Awana in February 2000, as U.S. missionaries to Georgia.  In 2008, they were appointed Area Directors of South Asia and later moved into the role of Vice-President of International Field Operations.  Before joining Awana, Steve served as the Pastor of Family Ministries at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia and Children’s Pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.  They have been active in Children's Ministry since 1982.  Before entering full-time ministry in 1993, Steve was the Vice-President of Transportation for Laney & Duke Terminal Warehouse Company/Land Trucking Company in Jacksonville, Florida.

Steve and Debra are the parents of two adult daughters.  Brittany is married to Byron Spence and is an Assistant Principal at an elementary school.  They have two boys, Brecken and Blair.  Ashley is married to Parker Watson and is the Mathematics Department Chair at a local high school.  They have one daughter, Audrey and a son, Wiley.

Steve is a graduate of Florida State College (AA) in Jacksonville, Florida and Southwest Bible College (BA) in Humble, Texas.

David Higgins

David is a dedicated board member of Serve One Global Network, committed to advancing the Gospel and supporting faith-based initiatives worldwide.

A successful entrepreneur and business owner with over 40 years of experience in the logistics industry, he brings valuable leadership and strategic insight to the organization. Having traveled internationally to observe global missions firsthand, he has a deep passion for outreach and service.

He is a devoted husband to Carol, a loving father of three, and a proud grandfather of four. Excited about this new endeavor, he looks forward to using his experience and faith to help further the mission of Christian Global Missions.
